Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine

Rebecca Carl, MD, is an Attending Physician in Sports Medicine and non-Operative Orthopaedics at Lurie Children’s and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.  She is the Fellowship Director for the Northwestern McGaw Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship. 

She received a BA at Cornell University, MD at the University of Illinois, Chicago College of Medicine, and an MSCI (masters in clinical investigation) at Northwestern University.  She completed a pediatric residency at University of Wisconsin and fellowships in primary care sports medicine (Rush University) and non-operative orthopaedics (University of Wisconsin).  She is the Chairperson-elect for the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Sports Medicine and Fitness.  Her research interests include sports concussion, overuse injuries, and clubfoot. 

Dr. Carl sees patients at Lurie Children’s Outpatient Centers in  Northbrook, Westchester, Skokie and Lincoln Park (Clark/Deming).

Noreen Shaikh, OD

Noreen Shaikh, OD, joined Lurie Children’s as a Pediatric Optometrist in 2019. 

She earned her BA at Smith College in Northampton, MA, and her M.Ed. at Arizona State University. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry. 

Dr. Shaikh’s clinical and research interests include specialty contact lenses, myopia control and amblyopia. She is an associate investigator and a member of the Refractive Error working group with the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigation Group (PEDIG), funded by the NIH. Her current research studies include aphakic contact lenses, myopia control, and contact lens safety.  

She has presented at a number of conferences including the American Academy of Optometry and the American Academy of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. 

Dr. Shaikh sees patients at Lurie Children’s – main location, Lurie Children’s Outpatient Centers in Skokie and Lincoln Park (Clark/Deming).

Ashlee Cosantino, DDS

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago; Postdoctoral Program in Pediatric Dentistry

Ashlee Cosantino, DDS, became the Interim Division Head of Pediatric Dentistry in 2025 and has been Program Director since 2019.

Dr. Cosantino completed her undergraduate education in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana0Champaign and received her DDS from the UIC College of Dentistry. She then continued her pediatric dental residency training at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She has been on staff at Lurie Children’s since completion of her residency in 2011.

Dr. Cosantino’s focus is on preventative oral health from infancy to adolescence and patients with special needs. She enjoys teaching the dental residents and enhancing their skills in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Cosantino works in private practice in Glen Ellyn, IL where she resides with her husband and two young boys.

She sees patients at the Lurie Children’s main location, Lurie Children’s Outpatient Center in Lincoln Park (Clark/Deming), and Lurie Children’s Outpatient Center in Westchester. 

Jamie Holland, MD

Dr. Jamie Holland is a pediatric sports medicine fellow at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Following this she completed her general pediatrics residency training at the University of Utah and a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She has an interest in advocacy and injury prevention.

Jacqueline Turner is a nurse practitioner at Lurie Children’s. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Marquette University and Master’s in Nursing from North Park University. She works in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Lurie Children’s and specializes in concussion management in children and adolescents.  

Jacqueline sees patients at the main hospital location in Chicago and Lurie Children’s Outpatient Center in Lincoln Park (Clark/Deming) and Lurie Children’s Outpatient Center in Northbrook.
